It's Germany national team star Dennis Schroder, with whom he played in Los Angeles during the last season.
"I mean, yeah [I'm happy for him]," Reaves said in the mixed zone after a 111-113 loss. "Anytime you see one of your buddies succeed [it's great], and I know how much he cherishes stuff like this."
"So yeah, anytime you see your brother being successful, you're happy for him. Obviously, pissed off with the result because I'm a competitor. But I know how special it is for him," Reaves added.
The 25-year-old also elaborated on his playing days with the German guard.
"I was lucky enough to be around him for a year. Super professional. You know, someone that helped me a lot through my rookie year and much respect for him," Reaves said.
Reaves was one of the Team USA leaders, finishing the game with 21 points (4/5 2PT, 3/5 3PT, 4/4 FT), 2 rebounds, 1 turnover, and 19 EFF.
Would he do something differently if the game were replayed?
"Get stops. That's it," Reaves gave a short response.
Team USA again suffered from a slow start in the game, as Germany built an early 10-point lead in the 1st quarter. However, Reaves didn't have an explanation for it.
"If I had a solution, I would, you know, obviously, apply it to the team," Reaves concluded.
