Latvia won both their classification games and captured 5th place in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, following an imposing performance against Lithuania, which was reduced to 6th spot.

On Saturday, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Classification Games in Manila came to a close.

Slovenia and Latvia both emerged victorious in their last games, wrapping up the 5th-8th place rankings.

Italy had a tough run in the end, losing three consecutive matches and ultimately finishing in 8th place.

On the other hand, Slovenia matched their best-ever FIBA World Cup performance, securing a 7th-place finish, which they had previously achieved in the 2014 edition.

In their debut World Cup appearance, Latvia had an impressive 6-2 record that handed them the 5th spot following their dominant 98-63 win over Lithuania.

The final rankings will become clear on Sunday, following the Bronze Medal game between Team USA and Canada, as well as the Germany-Serbia matchup for the Naismith Trophy.
