German basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki couldn't contain his excitement after the historic victory, exclaiming, "World champion! Inconceivable! What kind of team!"

But Nowitzki wasn't the only sports star to show appreciation for the unbeatable German national team at the FIBA World Cup 2023.

Even German football superstars joined the conversation.

Toni Kroos expressed his pride, saying, "It's crazy! So proud!" The Real Madrid midfielder went on to praise team captain Dennis Schroder, adding, "Dennis, athlete of the year! No discussion necessary."

Indeed, Schroder delivered a performance for the ages, scoring 28 points, securing two rebounds, and dishing out two assists in the final. His outstanding play throughout the tournament earned him the MVP honors.

Bastian Schweinsteiger was also quick to laud his countrymen, saying, "World Champions! An incredible achievement!"

Mats Hummels put his own twist on Noah Lyles' famous words, proudly proclaiming, "WORLD CHAMPIONS OF GERMANY."

The international basketball community joined in praising Germany as well.

Sergio Scariolo, a FIBA World Cup champion with the Spanish national team in 2019, commended his colleague Gordon Herbert and the entire German squad, saying, "It's all yours, my dear friend Gordie Herbert! Well deserved! Enjoy it, but be aware that in four years, we will try to get it back! Outstanding coaching job! Best Team from the very first exhibition game to a great final! Respect!"

FIBA basketball legends like Carmelo Anthony, Manu Ginobili, Jose Calderon, Pau Gasol, and Nicolas Batum also entered the conversation.

None other than LeBron James reacted to his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Schroder, getting the MVP award from Carmelo Anthony's hands: "Yes sir! That's tuff!"

Germany's remarkable achievement toppled their previous third-place finish back in 2002. They went 8-0 in the FIBA World Cup 2023 edition.
