Arturs Zagarshas penned a three-year deal with Fenerbahce but will spend the 2023-24 season with BC Wolves in Lithuania.

Arturs Zagars has signed a three-year contract with EuroLeague playoff participant Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, via the official team's announcement.

According to the same report, the Latvian playmaker, who garnered attention for his exceptional performance in the recently concluded FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, will spend the 2023-24 season on loan in Lithuania and represent the EuroCup team BC Wolves.

Previous reports from BasketNewshad suggested that numerous top-tier EuroLeague teams, and even some NBA clubs, had been actively scouting and gathering information on Zagars.

The 23-year-old has been impressive in the flagship FIBA event, averaging 12.4 points (55.6% 2P, 41.7% 3P) and making the FIBA World Cup 2023 All-Second Team. He also contributed 2.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game, all in just 25 minutes of playtime.

Zagars improved the single-game World Cup assists record in the Classification Round game vs. Lithuania. He dished out 17 dimes and surpassed Toni Kukoc (15 AST).

Zagars returns to Lithuania, as he last played for Nevezis Kedainiai in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He averaged 15.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 16.3 EFF over 22 games (28 minutes) in 2022-23.
