"It was an easy decision," Sloukas told Aleksandra Radivojevic from SportsKlub."The Panathinaikos people made it even easier for me.I am very proud to have made this move."
Coincidentally, Panathinaikos will face Olympiacos in the opening EuroLeague matchup. Sloukas believes it will be as competitive as it could get.
"The games of these two clubs are always followed throughout Europe. They are always interesting. We will fight in all the games, regardless of who will be in front of us.People should expect a fighting spirit from us until the very end," Sloukas said.
The 33-year-old guard also evaluated Panathinaikos' moves in the summer, adding that he likes the chemistry the team already has.
I like the chemistry we build day by day, all players are good and talented," Sloukas noted. "The main thing is how we play as a team. There is no doubt that we will improve from game to game.
"Coach Ataman is great, everyone knows that. All the achievements he has in his career speak for themselves. He won two EuroLeague titles with Efes. He is a great man, and we enjoy great cooperation so far.
I hope it will be like that until the end of the season. He is always confident, and I really like that about him," Sloukas concluded.
