Valencia Basket have decided to delay the signing of their final backcourt player for the time being. They want to give the team a chance to get organized and assess their specific needs.

During a press conference, Luis Arbalejo, the team's sports director, explained that they are taking a cautious approach.

"At the moment, our final decision on the pending addition will likely be in the affirmative, but we have to put what we have first. We are closely monitoring the recovery progress of both Xabi Lopez-Arostegui and Martin Hermannsson, and based on their timelines, we will make the best possible decision," Arbalejo said, via Mundo Deportivo.

"When you make a squad, the last additions are the most complicated because they have to fit in with the rest. Our primary focus is on organizing our existing roster. Yes, I want to have one more player [on the roster], but we don't know if Xabi is out for a month or the entire season, and Martin is not the first time he has had surgery on that knee. We want to wait a little," the executive added.

Arbalejo also pointed out that Valencia has already made 12 significant changes to the first-team roster this summer, including seven new signings.
