Tuovi will join the Virtus coaching staff alongside assistant coaches Alberto Seravalli and Cristian Fedrigo to help head coach Luca Banchi in the new season.

Virtus Segafredo Bologna's coaching staff will feature two European coaches who recently participated in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

The Italian club officially announced the specialist that will help head coach Luca Banchi this upcoming season. One of them is Lassi Tuovi, a Finnish specialist who guided the Finnish national team last summer.

After the departure of Sergio Scariolo, one vacant coaching position was left, as assistant coach Andrea Diana was let go alongside Scariolo. Alongside Tuovi, assistant coaches Alberto Seravalli and Cristian Fedrigo join Banchi.

The 36-year-old served as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League this offseason before the start of the World Cup. Previously, he coached SIG Strasbourg in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) from 2020 until 2022 before being appointed as the head coach of Finland in June 2022.
