Several weeks ago, Charlotte Hornets rookie Kai Jones hosted an Instagram Live video that was followed by some questionable statements. Now, the player will not be part of the team, at least temporarily.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, Jones will be away from the team indefinitely. He will not participate in the training camp that starts on Monday as well.

The organization is in constant communication with the player, Charania notes.

In the first weeks of September, Jones started acting weird online. First, he hosted an Instagram Live where he was seen acting weird and incoherent at times. The walls of his room seemed to have been scribbled with crayons.

NBA fans started worrying that Jones might have been highly intoxicated in the video or dealing with severe mental issues.

In the following days, he openly criticized several of his teammates on Instagram, notably Nick Richards and Mark Williams. Jones also wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that he would 100% beat LeBron James one-on-one.

Every single Jones teammate has since unfollowed him on social media.

Last season, Jones averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 12 minutes of playing time.
