Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic revealed that he reached out to PJ Dozier, his former teammate during their time in Denver (2019-22), when Dozier was deciding on his off-season move to Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade this past summer.

"I heard some rumors, and I called him to see if that was true or whatever," Jokic said at the Media Day. "I am happy for him. I think it's a great environment to play any of these two teams [Partizan or Crvena Zvezda] because of the fans and the whole atmosphere. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some guys. And you have so many people behind you cheering for you. I think it's amazing."

Dozier had earlier shared with Mozzart Sport that Jokic's call played a significant role in his decision to accept the Partizan offer.

"We heard each other. He called me on the phone when he found out I was about to come to Serbia and sign with Partizan. He told me about the city, Serbia, and the fans. When he put his stamp on the whole story, then I really felt the delight of coming here," Dozier underlined.

Dozier's EuroLeague debut is sceduled for this upcoming Thursday when Partizan travels to meet Maccabi at Menora Mivtachim Arena.
