Wetzell had recently concluded his participation in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 with the New Zealand national team. Across five games, he averaged 8.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, while his team finished 22nd.
The 27-year-old played a debut season with ALBA in 2022-23 and posted 6.5 points and 2.8 boards in 31 EuroLeague games.
ALBA start their new EuroLeague season on Thursday against FC Bayern Munich.
