After spending eight years in the NBA, Frank Kaminsky took his talents to Europe to play for Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade. Before the first game in the EuroLeague, he opened up about the transition.

Talking with the media before the trip to Israel to face Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Kaminsky said that he appreciates the tournament concept, where each game has a much higher value than in the NBA.

"Especially in the EuroLeague, every game matters. The preparation, how important everything is, every little detail. The big thing is you play in tough environments, the arenas are crazy, the fans are wild," Kaminsky said. "It will be a fun experience. I haven't played on the road yet in that environment, so I'm really excited about it."

Kaminsky used to play with Bogdan Bogdanovic, a star guard for the Atlanta Hawks who used to represent Partizan before going to the NBA. However, the big man hasn't directly communicated about his debut in Europe with him yet.

"I haven't yet, but I talk to a lot with my teammates, guys who have played here for a while, and they kind of set the expectations for me. I'm just really excited to go and see it for myself," the player said. "I've had a lot of big games in my career, and EuroLeague is some of the biggest basketball you can play."

Kaminsky will have to get accustomed to a different, more physical style of basketball in Europe. Nevertheless, he shared that he likes it even more than the style that's common in the NBA.

"I'm not really surprised [with the physicality], but I like it because I can get away with a lot more," Kaminsky explained. "In the NBA, it's a lot of athletic finesse, you can't get away with as much contact. Here, you can hit people and kind of push people around, I like that."

Kaminsky will debut in the EuroLeague on Thursday, October 5th, against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The game is scheduled to start at 20:05 CET.
