Trinchieri justified his analysis by the absence of one specific player.
"Because they are without an irreplaceable player like [Mathias] Lessort. Maybe even [Dante] Exum, but PJ Dozier is getting better game by game. They brought in a center like [Frank] Kaminsky, but they still lack a player with the athletic ability that Lessort had."
Trinchieri still had a lot to praise about Kaminsky.
"[He] can do great things in the EuroLeague. He's big, understands the game, spreads the floor well. He's the type of player who's ready to play right away."
On top of his comments about Partizan, the former Bayern Munich head coach also talked about Panathinaikos Athens and ALBA Berlin.
"They brought in bombastic reinforcements," he said of Panathinaikos. "But you also have to play the games. I think they are on the verge of making the playoffs. We will talk about them in November."
Regarding ALBA Berlin, his predictions were a lot less rosy.
"In my opinion, ASVEL is better than ALBA. The departure of Luke Sikma is a big blow to their system. It is not easy to find a player who scores 8-9 points and records 7-8 assists each game."
Trinchieri is currently a free agent after parting ways with Bayern Munich.
