"My parents taught us really good things and separated our careers. We don't talk about money, and we have separate agents," Hernangomez said, emphasizing that he and his brother have distinct career tracks.
"His goal was to play at home, and [it was] a great contract for him," noted Juancho Hernangomez about his older brother.
About himself and Panathinaikos, he had this to say: "I was seeing all the offers, seeing all the goals, all the teams, what they wanted and what they expected of me. And I just felt really motivated here."
"I feel like the desire to [have me here] was even more than any other team."
When asked what he thought about being constantly called Bo Cruz, Hernangomez initially offered positive thoughts about the film.
"The best part of the movie was to meet all the people, see how they make a movie... It was an amazing vibe for me," Hernangomez said. "I am happy because if the kids see the movie and it motivates them, that's a good thing," Hernangomez concluded.
However, he doesn't like being called Bo Cruz.
"Everybody thinks they are your friend because they see you on the screen. Actors have a tough life," according to Hernangomez. "I talked with Adam [Sandler], and Adam can't go nowhere. He can't go to the supermarket, can't go to the movie theatre, can't do anything!" he exclaimed.
Regardless, Juancho Hernangomez accepts his identity as Bo Cruz: "In the beginning, I got mad for being called Bo Cruz, but after a time, I understand that Bo Cruz is part of Juancho Hernangomez's life."
"If people recognize me just for the movie, I am going to say hi to them, [ask them] did they enjoy the movie, because I worked really hard on the movie too."
"If they recognize me because of a basketball game, I am going to say hi to them, too." Juancho Hernangomez concluded on a positive note.
The younger of the Hernangomez brothers will make his Panathinaikos EuroLeague debut tomorrow when the Greens host Olympiacos Piraeus for a fiery Greek derby.
