To start the day off, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade returned to the Stark Arena for their first game of the season against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. The visitors had no chance from the very beginning and suffered a painful defeat.
In the second game of the evening, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv welcomed Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade. Zeljko Obradovic's team arrived under unprecedented hype, but Lorenzo Brown-led Maccabi quickly put Partizan fans down to earth with a dominant performance at home.
Virtus Segafredo Bologna held a substantial lead against Zalgiris Kaunas throughout the majority of the game. Nevertheless, the Lithuanian team erased a 15-point deficit and took the first win away from home after a clutch performance by Keenan Evans.
Later on in the day, the German clash between FC Bayern Munich and ALBA Berlin followed. Even though ALBA led at the half, Pablo Laso's squad took the game into its hands in the second half, allowing the opponents to score just 24 points in 20 minutes en route to a win.
To finish off the first day of the round, FC Barcelona hosted Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Efes newcomers Darius Thompson struggled mightily, Will Clyburn did not remind his best self, and Barcelona comfortably defeated the Turkish team despite Shane Larkin's double-double of 16 points and 12 assists.
