The 31-year-old shooting guard, who came out of UConn as the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft, spent three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, another four with the Charlotte Hornets and three with the Indiana Pacers before coming to Sacramento in 2022. He was part of the trade that sent Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield to Indiana in exchange for All-Star center Domantas Sabonis.
Lamb appeared in 17 games for the Kings in 2021-22, averaging 7.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Sacramento's roster now comprises 20 players. The Kings must release two more in order to start the season with 18 players on their roster, of which 15 will be on standard NBA contracts and three on two-way deals.
The Kings will face the Los Angeles Lakers in their second preseason game Wednesday at Honda Center in Anaheim.
