The vision of transforming the iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the home of Real Madrid CF, into a basketball arena might become a reality.

Mark Tatum, NBA Deputy Commissioner, recently visited Madrid to witness the exhibition game between the Dallas Mavericks and host Real.

Following his visit, Tatum expressed an open stance towards the prospect of Santiago Bernabeu hosting an NBA game in the future.

"I've had the chance to see the new Bernabeu, and the transformations are truly remarkable," the NBA executive said via Mundo Deportivo. "I've seen the system in place for raising and lowering the grass. It is a world-class stadium. If the circumstances arise, we would love to play there.

"Obviously, it's not fully done yet. (i.e.: the stadium is not finished) I think at some point, under the right circumstances, we would love to play there, and those are conversations that we will have with Real [Madrid]," saidMark Tatum, NBA vice-commissioner, to a small group of media, includingMARCA.

The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, with its rich history and state-of-the-art facilities, has undergone significant renovations, making it an even more attractive option for hosting international sports events.
