Hanga doesn't like the idea of a play-in in the EuroLeague because it can take away from the achievements of the regular season.

After spending 12 seasons playing in Spain, Adam Hanga decided to change his landscape and moved to Serbia to represent Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade instead.

The player admits that the decision and the entire offseason weren't easy.

"It's been a bit of a strange summer. I've never been in a situation like this of not quickly having a team, but I'm happy and excited about a project that has a lot to prove," Hanga said in an interview on the Radio MARCA program 'We Like Basketball'.

"This is going to be a process throughout the season, and it's very important to have the key players healthy. We have a lot of confidence in the squad we have built, and our minimum [goal] has to be to be in the Euroleague playoffs," the player shared.

This year, teams have more chances to get to the playoffs. The play-in tournament was introduced this offseason, allowing teams placed 9th and 10th after the regular season an opportunity to get to the postseason.

Hanga, however, wasn't the biggest fan of the decision.

"To be honest, I don't like the play-in so much because it takes a little bit out of each game, but it will also give an opportunity to teams that have fought all season and had a bad streak in the end," he explained.

"I'm a fan of the Top 8, and staying [in the fight] for the playoffs until the end would be incredible, although I know it's complicated due to the calendar," he continued. "I wasn't a big fan of the play-in at first, but then we'll see, because we'll still have the opportunity to play in the playoffs if we finish tenth."
