The first pick of the 2023 NBA draft shined again in his second preseason game, as he compiled 23 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks in just under 23 minutes on the floor.
The 19-year-old Frenchmanmade himself felt throughout the game, as he led his team in scoring. He has racked up 20+ points in each of his two preseason appearances while going 15/18 from the field.
"I am comfortable when I change position on the court from one game to another but also during games, it's the key to my progress," commented the versatile big man. "I continue to learn on defense. I think we are on the right path."
Wembanyama didn't play a single minute in the fourth quarter. A few hours before tipoff, he was named the best French basketball player of the Year, winning the Alain Gilles Trophy, receiving 178 points and beating second-placed New York Liberty guard Marines Johannes by 99 points.
San Antonio will host the Houston Rockets twice on Monday, and then Wednesday for its next two preparation matches. The NBA season begins on October 24 with a first game for the Spurs on the 25th at home against Dallas.
