The Rockets, in return, are receiving Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.
In this transaction, the Thunder are also acquiring a 2027 second-round pick via Minnesota and a 2028 second-round pick via Milwaukee.
The move is essentially a purchase of the two future picks, and OKC will be releasing Porter Jr., who is currently facing assault charges related to an incident with his girlfriend.
Despite waiving him, the Thunder will have to pay the remaining guaranteed $16.9 million on Porter Jr.'s contract.
This move is part of OKC's strategy to accumulate assets, as they had previously gathered four second-round picks by acquiring and moving Victor Oladipo's $9.5 million expiring deal earlier in the offseason.
Looking ahead, the Thunder have positioned themselves with an impressive draft arsenal, boasting 15 first-round picks and 22 second-round picks over the next seven years.
