Hospital tests confirmed that Gondrezick had sustained a fractured neck vertebra. However, the 26-year-old has now changed her mind.
"My injuries don’t support any of those claims," she said in an interview with the New York Post. "He didn’t hit me. He never balled his fists up and hit me. And he definitely didn’t punch me in the face numerous times. That is a lie. I don’t have any injuries to support that."
The vertebrae injury has since been determined to be a congenital defect and wasn't caused by Porter Jr.
According to a criminal complaint, Gondrezick told the police that Porter repeatedly punched her in the face with a closed fist, resulting in a cut above her right eye, bruising, and substantial pain. She also reported that Porter forcefully squeezed her neck with his hands, causing difficulty in breathing, redness, and bruising to her neck.
Porter's second-degree assault charge has since been dropped. Additionally, the former WNBA player claims that the District Attorney's office did not interview her or wait for her full medical details to release the news about the matter.
"It happened very fast, not to the degree of what was reported, and it was an argument that occurred in the room for not even 10 seconds," Gondrezick told The Post.
