Having registered 21 points and 29 PIR in the first round, Mike James ended up with 14 points and 10 PIR in the second.
Talking about his relationship with the coach, James said that it's a duet of two people who are passionate about basketball.
"It's good. It's basically our third year together. There's a lot of respect on both ends, a lot of passion and energy, and just two people who love basketball, so we get along pretty well," the player told in an interview with Nikola Miloradovic from Mozzart Sport.
"He's always going with a lot of different things, trying to open my mind in ways to be effective and affect the game. I appreciate that about it."
Kemba Walker was arguably the most surprising signing of the offseason. However, he hasn't played a single minute for his new team yet, as he's dealing with injuries. Asked how the team would look with him joining the rotations, James wasn't sure at all.
"We're getting along great. Off the court, it's all been pretty well. On the court, I have zero idea. With Kemba and Jordan being out right now, we haven't really had a chance to even explore it at this point," he said. "It's pretty much a question mark for us as well. The more they get back healthy and come in and play with us, we'll figure out the rotation patterns and who can play with who, what each other's spot is."
"I think last year, me, Elie, and Jordan build that a little bit how we play playing all together at some point. With Kemba, we'll have to re-explore that," James continued. "Obviously, us three will have chemistry, but we also have to figure out what Kemba likes to do, where he likes the ball as well. It's going to be a learning process. Hopefully, while we're learning, we can win some games, and he can be effective."
