FIBA's EuroCup Women have officially announced that Ramat Hasharon decided to withdraw due to security concerns.
War in Israel has caused multiple amendments to the European basketball calendar. After a week where no Israeli teams played any games, some teams returned to competition this week, but strict security measures were enforced both in Valencia and Athens.
Extra measures require extra financial and logistical resources. According to Or Shkedy from Walla Sport, this was one of the main reasons why Ramat Hasharon withdrew, as other teams did not want to take up the high cost of hosting the club.
With Ramat Hasharon out of the competition, the three remaining teams in the group - Lattes-Montpellier, Lointek Gernika Bizkaia, and MB Zaglebie Sosnowiec - will compete with all games against the Israeli club canceled.
