However, he will have to deal with legal issues during his rookie year.
Miller has been named a defendant in a wrong death lawsuit against him and two other men, former Alabama Crimson Tide players Darius Miles and Michael Davis.
Miles and Davis are facing capital murder charges for fatally shooting a woman in January 2023. The gun used to kill the woman, Jamea Jonae Harris, 23, is said to have been retrieved from Miller's car.
The fatal shooting of a woman happened at around 1:45 AM near Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was caused by a dispute.
The lawsuit alleges that the three men "knew or should have known that bringing a dangerous weapon to a dispute and discharging said weapon would likely result in harm".
Miller's attorney, Jim Standridge, claims that the player had "no knowledge of any intent to use the weapon".
Both Miles and Davis have been jailed without bond since January 15th. The defense argues that it was an act of self-defense, while Cedric Johnson, the boyfriend of Harris, was the initiator of the dispute and the subsequent incident.
However, police investigator Jeff Miller testified that Miles never said he felt threatened during the interview he conducted.
