Speaking to ERT, the power forward of Olympiacos Piraeus Alec Peters reflected on a number of topics, including the game with his former team Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Sasha Vezenkov.

"Everybody knows that Efes is one of the most successful clubs of the past few years. They are finally in a good rhythm as well, winning the last game," Peters said. "They have a great roster of players [like] [Shane] Larkin, [Will] Clyburn, [Rodrigue] Beaubois."

"Those guys have been around the EuroLeague for a long time, and it is going to take a total team effort, and these days of practice will hopefully help us prepare for that," he added.

Talking about the team's injuries, which prevented Luke Sikma and Shaquille McKissic from playing against Kolossos Rodou in the Greek Basketball League game, and the arrival of Ignas Brazdeikis, Peters had this to say.

"It's just been so nice lately to have [him] join the team... Have him come in and give us not only points but good possessions... Offensively and defensively, he is starting to really catch his rhythm," Peters praised Brazdeikis.

"That really helps. It helps with our depth that we have been missing lately. [When] we get Luke [Sikma] back, and we get Shaq [McKissic] back, our depth will be even better," Peters stated, reflecting on the return schedule of two of Olympiacos's players.

When asked about being compared to Sasha Vezenkov, Peters only had love for his former teammate.

"There is no comparison [between us]," said Peters, smiling. "I love Sasha. Last year, it was so fun to play with him... There really is no comparison. Sasha is a special player, and he is very he is for a reason."

"My only thing coming to this year is if I do have more opportunity, which, so far, I have been lucky to have," Peters said about his role this year. "It is totally up to the coach, but I am going to make the most of it."

"Once we get everybody back and [with] a few days of practice this week, we are really going to join in with great rhythm," Peters predicted.

Talking about Vezenkov's preseason games, Peters smiled at the idea of his former teammate watching the Olympiacos games. When asked if he does the same for the preseason games of the Sacramento Kings, he was clear.

"I stayed up, no sleep, so I hope he is watching [us]."

"He is going to be good there, and all of us know that. The type of guy Sasha is, the way he works, seeing it last year firsthand..." Peters spoke highly about his former teammate's work ethic.

The American power forward also praised Vezenkov's destination in the NBA.

"Knowing that Sacramento is not just a team like other NBA teams that are maybe trying to lose or trying to play for draft or lottery picks. Sacramento wants to win, so they brought Sasha to help with winning. That's what he can do; he impacts winning at the highest level," Peters concluded.

Olympiacos Piraeus is now on a two-game winning streak after decisively beating Kolossos Rodou yesterday with a score of 59 - 102. They will host Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Thursday.
