The 51-year-old specialist is poised to remain head coach of Italy, as he was officially granted permission to take on a coaching role with a club. Pozzecco will remain the national team coach on a part-time contract.
Pozzecco boasts previous experience in the EuroLeague, having served as an assistant coach under Ettore Messina at EA7 Emporio Armani Milan during the 2021-22 season.
After parting ways with Olimpia Milano at the end of that campaign, he assumed the Italian NT head coach role, succeeding Meo Sacchetti. Under his guidance, Italy reached the quarterfinals of both FIBA EuroBasket 2022 and the FIBA World Cup 2023.
