Per the same report, five clubs (Barcelona, Baskonia and Real Madrid from Spain, Fenerbahce and Anadolu Efes from Turkey) were against the proposed option, citingsafety reasons and the increased cost of hosting the games.
However, the report was vehemently refuted by the Israeli club's president, Shimon Mizrahi, who shed light on the details discussed by the license holders.
"All the teams expressed full cooperation," he told Sport5's Omri Manheim.
"There were questions and answers were given. I would like to say that the news regarding the position of the Turkish clubs against us is far from accurate and they even supported the continuation of the games," the Israeli exec said.
"As evidence, there was no vote on the issue at all."
Mizrahi revealed that the first topic on the agenda was the situation in Israel and its implications for the continuation of the games and their location.
"It is obvious that due to the turbulent situation today, quite a number of questions arose that we were asked to answer," he pointed out.
"At the end of the day, we discovered the unity of all the 13 teams that participated in the meeting - and especially of the EuroLeague management, which vigorously supported the continuation of the games and even accepted our proposal to hold our home games at this stage in the historic hall in Belgrade. I'd like to thank the Serbs who showed true friendship towards us.
It is clear to us that precisely in these difficult days, it was important to insist that the games continue despite the many difficulties at this stage," he concluded.
