In a 119-126 loss against the Dallas Mavericks, the 19-year-old finished the game with 15 points (2/4 2PT, 3/5 3PT, 0/1 FT), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 5 turnovers.
"Lots of emotions, of course. It would have been perfect with the win," Wembanyama told the reporters after the game.
Fans were already lining up to see Wemby before the game, cheering him on prior to the tip-off.
"It was a surreal moment. I just feel very lucky to be here," Wembanyama said.
However, Wembanyama was dealing with foul trouble throughout the majority of the game.
"It might be frustrating, but always keeping the head up is good for my teammates, so I can't show it on the court. We learn every day," Wembanyama said.
The Spurs rookie was also asked about his teammates not seeing him open in the post situations.
"I wasn't frustrated because of that. As I said before, we are learning. It's our first regular season game. We are going to watch the film, and the players and coaches will make whatever it takes to get better," Wembanyama concluded.
