Chris Chiozza is the main candidate to join Baskonia as the new team's point guard.

After announcing Dusko Ivanovic as the new head coach, Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz might also have a new point guard in the near future.

Asier Perez and Oscar San Martin from Noticias de Alava report that Baskonia are finalizing the deal with the former NBA guard Chris Chiozza. BasketNews sources confirm the information.

Chiozza played in Spain last season as he finished the 2022-23 campaign with UCAM Murcia.

The 27-year-old averaged 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 11.6 EFF per game in 8 Spanish ACB League appearances for Murcia.

Chiozza spent four seasons in the NBA, wearing the Houston Rockets,Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets, and Golden State Warriors jerseys.

The American guard became the NBA champion in 2022 with the Warriors.

Chiozza went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft but managed to make 91 NBA appearances, averaging 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

The last time Chiozza played in the NBA was back in the 2021-22 season, when he made 34 appearances for the Warriors, averaging 2.0 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

In the 2022-23 season, Chiozza played in the G-League for the Long Island Nets, averaging 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 9.0 assists over 30 contests.
