Victor Wembanyama scored a career-high 38 points vs. the Phoenix Suns, joining the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Shaquille O'Neal, and David Robinson.

The San Antonio Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama stole the show against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.

In a 132-121 win against the Suns, the 19-year-old finished the game with a career-high 38 points (12/20 2PT, 3/6 3PT, 5/6 FT), 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, and 2 turnovers.

Such an incredible performance allowed Wembanyama to break at least multiple records and reach some milestones:

Wembanyama became the 3rd teenager to score at least 38 points in a game after LeBron James and Kevin Durant His 38 points are tied for the 3rd most in a game by a Spurs rookie all-time. Only David Robinson reached that mark previously. Wembanyama has now scored 103 points across his first five career games, joining David Robinson as the only other rookie in Spurs history to score 100 or more points in that span. Wembanyama is the first player with 100 points and 10 blocks in his first five games since Shaquille O'Neal in 1992. Wembanyama's 38 points vs. Suns is the most in a game by a player within his first five career NBA games since Larry Kenon in 1976.

"It just makes me want to go even higher to beat all these records," Wembanyama said about his historic start.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich also praised his rookie.

"He's a multifaceted player, and he'll pass it to the open guy," Popovich said after the game. "But he's got confidence in himself, and he made some plays that were unbelievable. That combination is pretty good if you have that skill and you're still willing to pass."

Suns star Devin Booker also acknowledged Wembanyama, saying he had never seen a player like him before.

"He's an unbelievable talent. Everybody knows that. Just trying to figure out what he is because we've never seen him before," Booker said after the game.
