Gianmarco Pozzecco recently joined ASVEL, but the energy looks already completely different. How long will it last? And how much this experience in France will influence his future with the Italian national team?

After three full seasons as head coach with two French league titles and one French cup won,T.J. Parker'sera inLDLC ASVEL Villeurbannehas officially come to an end. Despite promising results at home, Parker mostly pays the price for European failures.

At the time of his dismissal, ASVEL had 0 wins in their first four EuroLeague games and had not won a game in Europe's top competition since January, one of the worst losing streaks in all the EuroLeague history.

After so many setbacks, Tony Parker had no choice but to relieve him of his duties and look for a replacement. Parker's first choice wasGordon Herbert, the current head coach of the German national team.

However, the German federation did not give its green light for Herbert to do double duty, so the deal fell through, despite Parker's hopes of convincing the German federation to find a solution.

Once the Herbert hypothesis faded, ASVEL decided to hire another national team coach,Gianmarco Pozzecco.

Although he has only been in France for a very short time, it is already evident that Pozzecco has changed the atmosphere within the French team's locker room.

Pozzecco's manners are now known worldwide: the hugs to the players, the irrepressible joy after victories, and the press conferences, always full of emotion and jokes.

In his second game as head coach, he has already managed to break the losing streak thanks to success on the road against Zalgiris Kaunas and celebrated in his own way, jumping over his players at the end of the game.

However, Pozzecco's landing in France leaves some doubt about what his future may be at the helm of the Italian national team.
