"No," Kerr told Joe Vardon from The Athletic if he would coach Team USA after the Paris Games. "To me, it's a two-year cycle. Pop coached a World Cup and the Olympics, now it's my turn to pass the baton."
So far, veteran NBA superstars LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, and Joel Embiid have publicly declaredtheir intent to play for Team USA in Paris.
Kerr confirmed that he had a short discussion with Curry about his participation in the Olympics.
"The only thing we've discussed briefly is, you know, he said he wants to play, and I said great. Believe it or not, we have not had an in-depth conversation [about the Paris Olympics]," Kerr said.
"We've been so focused on the Warriors' season and the way last year ended, what we're trying to establish right now," he added.
Kerr also said he wants to confirm the final 2024 Paris Olympics roster as soon as possible.
"That conversation is coming over the next couple of months," Kerr said. "We'd like to have a roster set sooner rather than later. We don't have a date, but, you know, obviously, we don't want to leave guys in limbo," Kerr said.
