Rudy Gobert addresses criticism of his trade value: 'I didn't make the decision' / News - Basketnews.com
Gobert said that it was funny receiving tweets from people mad a year after the trade. He admitted that the high trade package value the Jazz got in exchange for him was validating that he was doing something right on the court, and people shouldn't be mad at him directly.

During the period after the trade, even the biggest league stars, such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, or James Harden, did not command the same number of assets in exchange for acquiring them.
In a recent sitdown with Shams Charania from Stadium, Gobert addressed his trade value which is often seen as too high.
"From the fan perspective, they see a trade as a trade of a player and his value when it's so much more of the factors that go into play - the salary, the years left in the contract, so many other factors, age, so many other factors that come into play," the player said.
"It was funny when I received tweets of people mad at me a year later. That's your fault, I didn't make the decision. Seeing how much the Jazz got in exchange for me, it was credit, it makes you feel like you've been doing something right, that you have a pretty good impact on the court," Gobert admitted.
