While the Greek team was emboldened to play good defense, Codi Miller-McIntyre's magical shot determined the final score. Though Olympiacos had 0.7 seconds to try and convert one more basket, it was a fumbled shot, and Baskonia went away with a victory.
The fourth quarter was full of drama as both sides missed a total of 18 field goals in just 10 minutes. Alec Peters scored a three-pointer to put Olympiacos ahead for the first time since the second quarter (72-71).
Chima Moneke, who had hustle plays throughout the game, scored two points after a turnover to put Baskonia back up in front (73-72).
Yet, Baskonia made the crucial basket and eventually celebrated an away win.
Chima Moneke led the way for the winners, finishing the game with 20 points (6/7 2PT, 2/2 3PT, 2/2 FT), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, and 28 PIR.
Tadas Sedekerskis contributed to the win with 12 points (3/4 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 3/3 FT), 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 1 block, and 27 PIR.
The game was one of the changing advantages. Olympiacos started the match hot, gaining an early headstart in a situation, building a 9-point lead (20-9).
For the second quarter, the Greek team was in for a rude surprise as the offenses were all Baskonia. The Basques played quick and loose basketball, keeping Olympiacos to just 9 points in the whole quarter, entering the half with a 15-point lead (50-35).
After half-time, the fluidity in Baskonia's offense declined, and Olympiacos tried to return to the game with the help of its fans.
The Greeks struggled but still managed to eat into the large deficit built up by Baskonia. Before the buzzer sounded, Moustapha Fall converted 2 free throws, cutting the hosts' deficit to 7 points (60-67).
