Mavs broadcaster roasted Harden, offering some advice.
"Ask the producer to pipe this into the Clippers' locker room. If I can talk to you, James, I hope you're taking notes," Dameris said. "I'm telling you in advance, 'you're welcome for the wisdom I'm about to spew,' because, listen, I get on my knees every night and pray for someone to believe in me like Daryl Morey believed in you."
Dameris reminisced about GM Morey's strategic moves during his time with the Houston Rockets, acquiring players like Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. He then pointed out how Morey adapted the system with the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid and, last but not least, highlighted the trade where the Brooklyn Nets got Ben Simmons.
"Listen, James, if you've ever had those friends who had bad roommates over and over, they complained about their bad roommates, 'this guy is terrible, the bad roommate here.' They never thought, being self-aware enough, that they were the bad roommate. They're the problem.
"Hey James, you're the problem," Dameris exclaimed. "If this doesn't work this year in this system with this team, and you're gonna go and point fingers at everybody else, and you're gonna go back home and swiping right for another team, there's not gonna be anybody left. Because, James, you're not the Beard, you're not the system, you're the problem."
Dameris finished his take on Harden's career in less than two minutes, concluding his remarks with a mic drop.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks beat the Clippers 144-126 on Friday night behind Luka Doncic's 44 points. Harden had 14 points and 5 rebounds over 29 minutes.
