All teams will play in their home venues unless the security situation due to the ongoing war doesn't allow it. Additionally, the league removed the foreign player transaction limit. As a result, teams whose foreigners decide to leave the organizations due to the war will be able to sign new players to the squads.
However, there is a new restriction in place. Any foreign player who leaves the team due to the war is able to return to play in the league only for the team he left.
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (EuroLeague), Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv (EuroCup), Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, and Hapoel Holon (both - Basketball Champions League) are the only active basketball teams in the country at the moment. Other Israeli teams have lost multiple foreign players due to the ongoing war. While some have already signed replacements, others are struggling to do so.
It is currently unclear whether the games will be played behind closed doors or with an fan audience.
