Speaking to SKWEEK after the AS Monaco - Anadolu Efes game on 14 November, Beaubois stated that he was "ready" for the 2024 Olympics.
The French guard from Guadeloupe had an excellent night in that game, scoring 21 points on 9/12 FG shooting and dishing out 5 assists.
The experienced sharpshooter has never played with the French National Team due to numerous reasons, including injuries, the Dallas Mavericks not letting him, and personal and/or coach's decision.
The World Cup, as well as other competitions, have come and gone, and Beaubois is still to wear the France jersey. Moreover, no significant progress has been made in that direction, according to the player himself.
"Nothing happened," the Frenchman recently told BasketNews.
"Throughout my career, there were times when they called me, and I couldn't go. Sometimes, I wanted to go, and they didn't call me. It happens," he stoically remarked.
"Unfortunately, our wishes never matched. Time was a little bit off, unfortunately. But it's not over. You never know; maybe I'll play one day," he stressed.
Beaubois was a member of the French junior national teams, but he's yet to join the senior squad. How likely is that to change anytime soon?
"It's tough to be hopeful when it has never happened," he said. "But there's still a chance as long as I'm still playing."
As the 2024 Paris Olympic Games constitute the best incentive for any athlete, Beaubois can't conceal that he would be tempted to participate. At the same time, the upcoming tournament looks like his last chance for a move that is long overdue.
In this vein, it's a one-off opportunity that Beaubois will have to either take or let go forever.
"I believe so," he concurred. "It's the Olympics or never."
So far, Beaubois has been averaging 11.8 points on 41.2% three-point shooting in the new EuroLeague season.
