Despite the current circumstances, Theis remains a proven and reliable NBA rotation big man, showcasing his skills this past summer by playing a key role in Germany's gold medal triumph at the FIBA World Cup 2023.
"Obviously, after a great summer, I'm not happy with the situation I'm in right now," the player recently told NBC Sports.
Theis faced setbacks last season due to a knee injury, limiting his participation to just seven games. However, he demonstrated his readiness for an expanded role, averaging over 20 minutes and 10.9 points per game for Germany.
Financially, Theis is on a reasonable contract, earning $9.1 million for the current season, with a club option for the next season at $9.5 million.
