Houston Rockets' Dillon Brooks expresses frustration with his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies, citing his scapegoat status and lack of support during the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

Dillon Brooks, who spent the initial six seasons of his NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies before joining the Houston Rockets this offseason, expressed dissatisfaction with how things concluded with his former team.

"What I didn't like about Memphis was they allowed that so they can get out of the woodwork, and then I'm the scapegoat of it all," he told Chris MannixofSports Illustrated. "That's what I didn't appreciate. And then ultimately they'll come to me on the low, as men, one on one and tell me something, but then not defend me when everything went down."

These sentiments emerged following Memphis' exit in six games against the Los Angeles Lakers during the first round of the 2023 playoffs. The series' focal point was Brooks boldly challenging LeBron James, referring to the superstar as "old."

Subsequently, a report from The Athletic indicated that Brooks had no intention of returning to the Grizzlies "under any circumstances."
