Capital One Arena has a reputation for lacking an intimidating atmosphere and often sees opposing fans outnumber Wizards fans.
Avdija expected better support from the home crowd based on his experience with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where the fan support is invariably passionate.
"Gets me angry sometimes, honestly. Playing in your city and having the whole stadium cheering 'Let's Go Knicks,'" the Israeli international told reporters.
"Not something you'll see in Europe. This stadium needs to chant 'Let's Go DC', that's how it needs to be."
The franchise's failure to build a competitive team has contributed to the lack of enthusiasm from fans. Voted as the second-worst NBA arena by the media, and regularly struggling with attendance, the Capital One Arena is a place where the opposing team fans regularly outnumber the Wizards supporters.
