The Sacramento Kings are reportedly gearing up for an active pursuit of a new superstar as the February trade deadline approaches.

According to insights from NBA insider Shams Charania on an episode of FanDuel's "Run It Back," the team, under the leadership of head coach Mike Brown, is poised to make aggressive moves to bolster their roster with a star-level player.

The Kings have been on the rise since Brown assumed the head coach role last season. They broke a record-breaking 16-year playoff drought in 2022-23.

"I think this is the first time in a really long time, maybe when Chris Webber was at the Kings, that you can look at Sacramento as like a trade destination," Charania stated. "They're going to be involved in every star player: Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, maybe Zach LaVine, whatever stars become available.

"Because Monte McNair and that organization have done a good job of keeping their assets, they have tradable contracts. So they're gonna be a player for stars coming up. I think, eventually, they could add a third star."

Right now, Sacramento's star power consists of De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
