With 37 seconds left on the clock, Metalac coach Vladimir Panic and Radnicki coach Aleksandar Icic got into a verbal conflict regarding the referees' decisions. Both coaches received technical fouls and were ejected from the game.
Panic then approached the opponents' bench, where the conflict erupted. The Metalac coach got pushed and choked, Valjevska Posla reports. He also received several blows from Radnicki players, the outlet writes.
One Metalac player was hit with a fist during the scuffle and fell to the ground, suffering a concussion, Hotsport writes. The parents joined in from the stands and could be seen having a scuffle of their own.
The police were called to the scene. After examining the video footage from the surveillance cameras, the police decided to begin an investigation. Photos of the incident can be found here.
The fight was a culmination of a conflict between the two teams that started during the summer when some of Radnicki's players moved to Metalac after the team was formed, VAMedia writes.
Although the referees wanted to continue the match, it was forfeited. Multiple fines are expected to be handed out by the Serbian Basketball Federation (KSS).
