In case of successful negotiations, Pangos would join Zalgiris after Round 17 in the EuroLeague.
According to the BasketNews sources, the main obstacle remains the current Pangos contract with Olimpia Milan. The Canadian guard has a contract with the Italian team until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Pangos is expected to earn€2 million, but the player's side and Olimpia Milan are looking for solutions to part separate ways.
On top of that, Zalgiris are also expected to sign another perimeter player who could join the team straight away, meaning the newcomer would be from outside the EuroLeague.
Pangos joined Olimpia Milan last summer. However, last year he suffered from multiple injuries, while this season, he lost Ettore Messina's trust after only 5 EuroLeague games.
Pangos averages 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 6.0 PIR per game in this EuroLeague season.
Pangos made his EuroLeague debut with Zalgiris after joining the Lithuanian powerhouse in 2016. He led Zalgiris to the EuroLeague Final Four in 2018 and was named into the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
