Meanwhile, the Kings plan to hold open the 15th roster spot for the foreseeable future.
Petrusev, 23, had a brief stint with the Kings, appearing in two games and accumulating three points in a total of six minutes of play.
Petrusev joined the Kings following a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. In the trade saga, Petrusev was initially moved from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Clippers as part of the James Harden deal, before ultimately finding his way to Sacramento.
He appeared in one NBA game with the Sixers and had one rebound in three minutes of playing time.
Drafted in the second round -- 50th overall pick -- by the 76ers in 2021, Petrusev played two seasons for the Gonzaga Bulldogs from 2018 to 2020, averaging 12.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Former Mega Basket, Anadolu Efes, and Crvena Zvezda player also spent three seasons in Europe, posting 12.8 points, 1.1 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per contest.
