Alperen Sengun has been blossoming in his third year in the NBA, averaging the highest numbers in his career on career-best efficiency. Friday night, he battled against Nikola Jokic, a player he's often being compared to.

Sengun's Houston Rockets unexpectedly eliminated Jokic's Denver Nuggets from winning the In-Season Tournament, with the Turkish center in the spotlight with a near-triple-double of 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists.

"It's always fun to play against him. If we're winning, it's more fun," Sengun told Tolis Kotzias from SDNA. We did a great job. I tried my best against him. He got big numbers, but it's important if you're winning or not. If we win, it's more fun."

Sengun came to the NBA from Besiktas, hence, he did not have the chance to play in the EuroLeague. However, he admits he follows the competition pretty closely, although the time difference between Europe and the US doesn't allow him to watch all the games.

"The time is different. At that time, we always have practice, or I'm sleeping and other things. It's hard to watch, but sometimes, I catch Efes and Fenerbahce matches," the player said.
