"From a basketball point of view, having two teams in the EuroLeague is a positive factor and confirms that this is a place for basketball, much more than other countries I've been to, and it's a tradition that will keep the Italian league high," Trinchieri said, reflecting on the participation of Virtus Segafredo Bologna and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in the continent's highest-tier basketball competition.

Trinchieri continued to elaborate.

"The other factor is a top-level coaching staff. Serbian [basketball] has a better name, they've traveled earlier and further, but it's also done here in Italy now," he said, comparing Italian and Serbian basketball cultures.

The Italian coach also had remarks to share about his time in Bayern Munich.

"It's not an answer I have to give," he admitted. "At Bayern, I am grateful for the cycle I experienced, three beautiful and intense years, and my ups and downs. Now I see it like any other team.I don't feel like making comparisons."
