The saga between Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul continues after Yam Madar was hit by a coin thrown onto the court by Besiktas fans in the derby game.

This time, the Besiktas club released an announcement, blaming the actions of Sertac Komsuoglu, who was not explicitly named, for provoking the fans to act in an unsportsmanlike way.

While the announcement does not condone what happened, in terms of the throwing of objects onto the court, it still puts part of the blame on Komsuoglu for allegedly provoking Besiktas fans.

The announcement advances the view that Komsuoglu's provocative behavior, particularly maintained as objections to the referees, ultimately led to Madar's injury.

Dimitris Itoudis had previously appealed for strong sanctions on the perpetrator of the injury, and Fenerbahce had announced that Yam Madar was battling a partial loss of his sight.

As of now, no announcements have been made yet by the Turkish Basketball Federation.

FULL BESIKTAS ANNOUNCEMENT

"Our Besiktas Emlakjet team, which emerged victorious from the derby match played last night in the Turkish Basketball Super League, has filled our Club and our community with joy.

The atmosphere created by more than 15,000 fans at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall once again demonstrated the passion of Besiktas fans for sports and their team and won everyone's appreciation.

In the first half of the match, field incidents occurred, which we have never condoned, and as a result, a player of the opposing team was hit by a foreign object.

This is an unacceptable behavior for us and one that we do not approve of. We wish Yam Madar, who was unfortunately injured, a speedy recovery.

However, the following points should not be ignored:

The branch manager of the rival team came to the seats reserved for them as a courtesy, wearing his own team's jersey, contrary to the instructions, and drew the attention of our fans to himself.

Subsequently, from the sidelines, he tried to provoke our fans by overdoing his protests to the referees in the minutes when our team had the momentum, therefore causing unwanted incidents to occur.

The rival team manager's provocative behavior towards our fans, instead of being an example, led to the injury of his own athlete.

The fact that the person in question is trying to overshadow the success of our black-and-white team and is resorting to small schemes is a shame to the community he represents.

We would like to state once again that these incidents are never behaviors that we condone.

For the development of Turkish sports and to set an example, we invite the authorities to impose the necessary penalties on those who caused these incidents that we do not approve of."
