Nikola Milutinov, one of the most-anticipated additions to the roster of Olympiacos Piraeus this summer, faced a period where he had to deal with a bout of injuries in this EuroLeague season.

The big man has indeed been back on the court, missing Rounds 8 and 9, but he is out of form.

While he registered an average of 20 PIR in his first 6 games this season, he has had only 5 PIR in average in his last 4 games.

The Serbian center is aware of his situation and intends to work on it, talking to SPORT24.

"I'm a little off the pace because of the injury. I have to work hard to get back in shape, and better days are coming for me. I'm positive and confident," he said.

On the subject of injuries, Milutinov is unsure as to what might have caused the multitude of instances of bad luck he had to endure in the last few weeks.

"I don't know what's to blame. It could be the [2023 FIBA] World Cup. It could be something unlucky. I hope for all the teams, not just us, that the injuries stop and all the teams have their players available. [For us] this is the most important."

The big man of Olympiacos also had a warm welcome for Filip Petrusev, his countryman who recently was transferred to the Greek team to reinforce the power forward/center position.

"He showed last season and in the summer that he is a quality player. He can help the team a lot, and we hope he will play soon and be part of the team because we need him."

Olympiacos will host FC Bayern Munich on December 8 and look to bounce back from a home loss to Real Madrid. It is expected that Petrusev will make his debut in that game.
