According to Christian Clark of NOLA.com, Williamson continues to ignore advice leveled at him by the team.

"The Pelicans have repeatedly stressed to Williamson that his diet and conditioning need to improve," said Clark. "Williamson, multiple team sources have told The Times-Picayune, ‘doesn’t listen,'" he stated.

Clark also noted that the Pelicans have been working tirelessly since first drafting Williamson to improve this supposedly "poor work ethic," but their efforts have not yielded fruit as of yet.

The Pelicans were lastly blown out in the NBA In-Season Tournament semifinals with a score of 133-89 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and Williamson's performance was singled out by the team's coach, Willie Green.

"For Z [Zion Williamson] in particular, it’s a moment that we can learn from," said Green, noting that the team had trouble matching the Lakers' intensity.

Zion Williamson is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season.
