The ejection provoked a lot of attention, not just from Brown but also from the Celtics bench as well as the fans.

A "Pool Report" was published on Brown's position, with the match's crew chief, Mark Lindsay, explaining why Brown received the two technicals and was then ejected.

"The first technical foul was called for use of profanity toward a game official," stated Linsay.

For the controversial second technical foul, which came just moments after the first one, Lindsay had this to say.

"The second technical foul was called for a wave off directed at the official which under the respect of the game guidelines is considered an overt gesture and an unsportsmanlike act."

Lindsay's statements come after Brown's harsh remarks after the game, in which he termed him "some overemotional ref."
