Anthony Davis reflects on the Lakers winning the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament: "We know it's not the real thing."

With a remarkable 41-point, 20-rebound performance in Las Vegas on Saturday night, Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers to a historic win in the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament.

Reflecting on the victory against the Indiana Pacers, the star big man shared his thoughts on what the win meant for him and the team.

"First to do it, first team to win it. We know it's not the real thing, but we keep taking steps in the right direction," Davis said post-game. "The first to do it, we will take it.

"We wanted to be the first to get this. Obviously, the money," he continued. "But we are seeing how we are growing. I mean, we were able to go 4-0 in pool play, and then we got to Vegas. It was like, 'We are here.' We might as well go win it all. Playoff style of basketball, we were able to do that."

The Lakers were unstoppable throughout the inaugural event, going a perfect 7-0 in both the group stage and knockout rounds. Their average margin of victory was nearly 20 points.

Meanwhile, LeBron James earned the honor of being named the first-ever MVP in the tournament, scoring 30 and 24 points in the semifinal and final, respectively.

"We have been doing it for a long time. Five years now," Davis said of his duo with James. "We just figured it out. We know each other's tendencies and what we like to do. Obviously, in crunch time, we get to our infamous pick-and-roll, where it is tough to stop. We feed off one another. Thursday, LeBron got it going, and tonight, it was me. He still did his thing. But it was not us two; obviously, the whole team contributed tonight."
